Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW-Africa) Launches Uganda Chapter
Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW-Africa) launched Uganda Chapter with a successful event endorsed by Baroness Sandy Verma a member of the House of Lords (British Parliament), seasoned Entrepreneur & Head of UN UK, where they had conversations on how to lead trade and education transformation amongst girls and women
Kampala, Uganda – Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW-Africa) celebrated the launch of its Uganda Chapter with a successful event at Kitante Primary School. The event was attended by many dignitaries, including the the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Mayor, His worship Salim Uhuru.
CBW-Africa was founded by President Ngozi Oyewole from Nigeria and Vice President Nana Wanjau from Kenya. Remmie Male, the Continental Secretary-General is the Founder and Executive Director of the Uganda Chapter, along with Belinda Blick, Country Director, and Gloria Aminat, Deputy Country Director, and together they have spearheaded the chapter’s efforts in transforming trade through the online trade centre and education through the one million girls coding program.
The event featured conversations on leading trade and education transformation among girls and women, with model schools like Namagunga Girls School and Kitante Primary School in attendance. The program was sponsored by Centenary Bank and supported by local implementation partners like Calaret Women, Club Tangaza, Bora Minds, and Ady 2 Faces.
Mugumo Munene of Kodris’s Africa from Kenya and the Continental head of Fundraising and partnership Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Liech from Kenya graced the event.
CBW-Africa transforms trade through the online trade centre and education through the One Million Girls coding program.
“We are thrilled to have launched our Uganda Chapter and to have such strong support from the community and our partners,” said Remmie Male. “We are dedicated to empowering women in business and education throughout Africa.”
CBW-Africa is active in 25 countries and aims to expand its reach and impact across the continent.
